Day 1: Arrival in Pokhara
Upon arrival in Pokhara, you are greeted by the majestic views of the Annapurna mountain range. Spend the day exploring the beautiful city, visiting Phewa Lake, and preparing for the upcoming adventure. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 2: Journey to Put-In Point
Early morning, embark on a scenic journey from Pokhara to the put-in point on the Kali Gandaki River. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, initially following the Seti River and rising up to Naudanda, offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif.
The road then descends into the Modi Khola river valley and follows it for several kilometers before reaching Kusma, where it turns northwest and descends to the river. Upon arrival, you will receive a full safety briefing, have lunch, and start your exciting rafting adventure. The first day includes thrilling Class III rapids, followed by two big Class IV rapids, 'Small Brother' and 'Big Brother'. Camp at the Modi Khola confluence.
Day 3: Rafting from Modi Khola to Purti Ghat
After packing the rafts, continue down the river, experiencing a mix of adrenaline-pumping rapids and serene sections with spectacular scenery, including views of Annapurna I and Himchuli. Navigate through several Class III rapids and the challenging Class IV rapid named REFUND.
The lush vegetation and vines hanging from the cliffs add to the beauty of this section. Camp below the village of Purti Ghat.
Day 4: Rafting from Purti Ghat to Mirme
Resume your rafting journey and soon reach the holy village of Seti Beni, where the river has deposited a house-sized boulder at the confluence with a smaller tributary. This boulder is an important shrine for the local river people.
Navigate the rapid around this holy site, usually with a local audience. Continue rafting until you reach Mirme, where you will set up camp for the night.
Day 5: Mirme to Tatopani
After breakfast, pack up the gear and set off on another day of thrilling rapids and beautiful landscapes. Today, the river journey takes you through both calm sections and exciting rapids as you make your way towards Tatopani, known for its hot springs. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the natural hot springs, rejuvenating your body after days of rafting. Camp near Tatopani.
Day 6: Tatopani to Andhi Khola
Continue rafting from Tatopani, encountering more Class III-IV rapids. The journey today includes beautiful gorges, remote villages, and lush green valleys. The river narrows at some points, creating exciting rapids and offering stunning views of the surrounding hills. Reach Andhi Khola in the evening and set up camp.
Day 7: Andhi Khola to Setibeni
On the final day of rafting, make your way towards Setibeni, navigating the last set of rapids. This section of the river is known for its beautiful landscapes and tranquil waters. Arrive at Setibeni, where you will be picked up for the return journey to Pokhara. Enjoy the scenic drive back, reflecting on the incredible adventure you’ve just experienced. Overnight in Pokhara.
